Shining Stars Academy is now open for enrollment.
We have been hard at work making improvements and updates to the building, and going through the licensing process for state certification.
We are pleased to announce that on January 16th, 2020 the Texas Health and Human Services granted us our license to operate.
Mission Statement
Shining Stars Academy’s goal is to provide safe, affordable but high quality, developmentally appropriate child care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
We focus on helping children become social, well-educated, independent and self-confident in the quest for learning.
Our Philosophy
It is the philosophy of Shining Stars Academy that children be encouraged to learn and grow by providing a foundation of developmentally appropriate experiences where all children can succeed in a safe, friendly, educational, and loving environment. We believe each child is a unique individual and recognize children’s varied abilities, interests, needs, and learning styles. At Shining Stars Academy, we believe young children learn best by doing. It requires active thinking, and experimenting, to determine how things work, and to learn firsthand about the world we live in. We encourage the children to acquire and practice new learning skills, which will translate into long term development into areas of cognitive development, literacy and language skills, social, emotional and physical development.

Childcare providers are modeled to be the first teachers of children. We understand this responsibility, and therefore our goal is to become an integral role in the systems of early childhood education. The curriculum we use is “The Creative Curriculum” by Teaching Strategies. It is a 12 month program that encompasses age specific study units to enhance academic, social, physical and emotional development. Some other exciting additions to the curriculum that we are currently looking to implement, will be Sign Language and Spanish.
